L. Martin Pavletich, a native of northern New Mexico, is actively involved in a
successful art career after leaving a profession in mechanical engineering.
He is fulfilling a lifelong desire to paint after being influenced by his mother,
also a New Mexico artist.
He originally began working with oils in the 1980s. After several years'
hiatus from painting, he was introduced to pastels in 1995 after taking a
workshop.
Martin is a representational artist and his work continues to evolve as he
experiments with different materials and techniques. His talent and skill in
drawing make him very versatile in capturing a variety of subjects. Although
landscapes comprise a significant portion of his works, he also paints still
lifes, animals, figures and portraits. Oil and pastel are his preferred media.
Martin is a signature member of the Pastel Society of New Mexico and is a
Juried Associate member of the Pastel Society of America and Oil Painters of
America.
